Just three words

Just three words

A Poem by Michelle Mackenzie
"

it wont be said...

"

Just three words

The sky darkens,

The children goes to sleep,

I start to yawn,

And relax in my seat.

The computer is playing,

Whilst I read a book,

I settle down for bed,

Using the usual routine I took.

I get up from my seat,

I give him a hug,

He watches the tv screen,

I give him my love.

I give him a hug,

We can hear the birds,

I say "I love you,"

just three words.

He hugs me back,

He kisses me goodnight,

"I love me too,"

the same each and every night.

"I love you," I say again,

I can still hear the birds,

Why is it hard for him to say?

It's just three words.
