And God Doesn't Agree

And God Doesn't Agree

A Poem by Gabriel Firebrand
"

I love you, but what if you weren't the one meant for me? A poem for my high school sweetheart.

"

I can never get you off my mind

You always manage to overlap my sight

You're sweeter than the sweetest dessert

More priceless than my favorite shirt

You tell me to stay back, I reluctantly fly away

You then change your mind, you tell me to stay

Bipolarity is no excuse for something this way

"Make your mind up", I hope and pray

Dreaming of you is only a step backwards

That is, if you're never going to let me move forward

To walk through that door that is your heart

I guess leaving you for good is a start

I need to let go of the past

All the wonderful memories that I thought would always last

'Cause even though I know in my heart that you're the one for me

God thinks you're not my destiny, He doesn't agree
