See People

See People

A Poem by M. Patrick Watson

We draw borders around our countries
We create barriers around our cities
We build walls around our hearts
Our life should be a journey across borders, through barriers and over walls
Seeing into the cultures, the homes and the hearts of other people
Too often we are trapped by our own walls
Trapped and unable to see the beauty of humanity that lies just outside
Tear down the walls, open your hearts and see other people, as people.
Do that and we can end famine, end war, end poverty and hate
Do that one thing with your life, see people.
