Old Man River

Old Man River

A Poem by MOON

Sometimes I glimpse your face in the pink tinged dawn

It’s of love and grace and nothing to mourn

Sometimes the tears bruise my heart

And I am torn apart

Sometimes I wake in the silence of the night

Every word you spoke alight

Sometimes I wonder how it is

And where we find release

From the coldness of death

How do we waken from our bed?

Sometimes I know love continues to grow

Even after the grim reaper sows

Sometimes all I need is a word

A hundred lifetimes for your voice to be heard

Sometimes I hear you tiptoe in my soul

And for a moment I find the broken pieces, I am whole.

incredible gift to be able to read such vision, brilliance to be able to write with it. this is a poem that flows as a river, about a river, and a reality that has often been compared to a river. all three flow simultaneous within these words. beautiful.

I still say Good-Night .. .. and touch the place we cuddled close .. Love stays with us, goes everywhere we go .. "Sometimes I here you tiptoe in my soul" .. best line .. ..

Soft, and love-ly .. Jazz

"Sometimes I hear you tiptoe in my soul And for a moment I find the broken pieces, I am whole." this line is so brilliant and ties together the searching flow of the poem; up and down' the maybe the "sometimes" the uncertainty is without absolutes just what awakens the soul and let's it follow through...amazing stuff

..."Sometimes I know love continues to grow
Even after the grim reaper sows..."
Love, TRUE love, never really dies does it? This was obviously a heartfelt write, dripping with poignancy and tenderness...
beautiful!

This is beautiful. An eloquent transcription of how love touches us deeply and lingers, even carrying us forward when a loved one passes on.
"Sometimes I hear you tiptoe in my soul
And for a moment I find the broken pieces, I am whole"
Splendid writing!

This is also lovely! To have such a spiritual connection even if untouchable, dead or yet to be it is true to feel free and peace with a hint the soulful thee. :)

You are a passionate writer. Great imagery. Moon has always been associated with romance, hence your name.

This is so vulnerable, so beautiful, like a feather it softly touches my soul. It is so relatable, and so honest.

Pink is stale. Try "cotton-tinged dawn"? Just an improvisation. Not the best. It might evoke the thought of pink cotton candy. All dawns are pink in poems like this.
"And i am torn apart" sounded a little generic. There. Only two complaints. Quite a record. Haha. "A hundred lifetimes..." to "I am whole" is infallible. Transcends cyberspace.
