Whence

Whence

A Poem by MOON

I looked from whence I could see the stars; there were days clouded in ice and days

where the sun  lifted me on orange rays

and yet here I am still behind veiled bars

Sometimes ivory clad sometimes silver steel, the endless ringing echoes

a mind laid waste in a thousand ghettos

sometimes a floundering fish on a reel

I looked from whence I could see the stars, these were nights of shattering displays

of dreams that once smouldered but now decays

the cold dying for things that never was

A deep and beautiful keen write, exactly how it is in your imagery. I loved this Moon you have a gift to write. :)

Nice work, the last line in the second verse is great. These are the lines that cause the reader to say that`s it .....in a literary sense.I like the way you repeat days in the first line and resist the temptation to start a new line...exactly right !

Sometimes I can see life as the beautiful gift that it is and then other times my vision is clouded by life itself. Beautiful Moon.

The imagery is poignant and hauntingly vivid...If I may say a bit of a dart to the heart The words sting just enough to read a couple of times. Admittedly "Whence" is the perfect tile choice for this fine poem...

Disappointment, disillusionment and bitter resignation.
In any event, Moon, that's what I make of it.
