Your poem is a poignant exploration of the complexities of love and the ways in which it can both inspire and torment us. The use of metaphor, such as the "brisk wind" and "key to your soul," creates a sense of movement and urgency that draws the reader in. The final lines, with their focus on the power and vulnerability inherent in loving someone, add a layer of emotional depth and resonance to the poem, inviting readers to reflect on their own experiences of love and heartbreak.
too many games are played making
love deceitful and filled with mixed
emotions confusing the players
deceptions of the heart is no
good for anyone..nice work
"A study in powerless emotion." An apt description here for romantic love, the kind made popular by so much music. People think they will find the "right" person who will deliver them from their unhappiness. Then they discover they've bound themselves to someone just as desperate. Two unhappy people have found each other and now can't wait to get out of it.
Love is a game for some people. Smoke and mirrors and deception can play its part. We are all responsible for how we behave. Deception is not a pleasant way to act. Good to see a new post from you Moon.
.. I thoroughly enjoyed this introduction to your poetry portfolio my friend and mark my words, I fully intend to investigate and explore further ............ All Good Things, Neville :)
I think all of what is in this poem is so true, Moon.
Love the description and it made me think of this.
We can only control how we love, not how the other person does...
And even with the "screaming regrets" the pain will die down eventually,
and we know of our own "passion and devotion."

I agree my friend. Old age had taught me. I need a kind woman and I would be kind to her.
"You won’t heed the call
Loving is the final fall
A study in powerless emotion
Encased in passion and devotion"
I liked the above lines. When the love is true. The people need to hold hands and they love the voice of their mate. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
