Love

 

The great levelling has begun

Fur coat and threadbare one

You and I were once apart

Now we share a beating heart

All the songs we ever sung

Of loss and grief, those beating drums

Now mocks and echoes what was won

I see you now as clear as day

 Captured by the last sun ray

Every angry word displayed

Whispers as it fades

Universal love comes in waves

Viruses and stark graves

Love is indeed the great leveller. A truly romantic piece with an extra kick at these present times. Although if I can be a little political a virus is not a leveller from what I can see. More money gives better treatments in many ways. Still the poem is a great piece.
