Mother

Mother

A Poem by MOON

Paradise lies at the feet of thy mother

You were wonderfully rare like no other

All love and humour and oh so wise

Your spirit embraces and never dies

The essence your allure

The complexity that was you

You were the sunlit morning dew

The fiery autumn in all its hue

I kneel at your feet I hold you

In esteem in the court of the few

I embrace the soul ahead of your time

I am so honoured mother of mine

You were a flower in crimson light

A rare butterfly in flight

You are the moon and the sun

Mischievous and so much of fun

I see you in everything

So free and on the wing

dear Moon... your words are brushed on a Canvas of a Mother's Love.
We are the blossoms that become Birds of sacred Sonnets. softly, Pat

This is wonderful in structure and rhyme rhythm and chime:) The painting you weaved in this love you give to her is so beautiful in vision and meaning. I so enjoyed this what a lovely voice you have, moon!

Thank you so much, most appreciated.
Since I just saw my sister's FB posting about our almost-97-yo mom . . . I clicked on your poem to discover a new mom message. You do a great job of celebrating mom . . . yours or anyone's! This feels like your mom must've been a playmate & a friend, the way you brightly word paint your memories here! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Beautiful tribute to your mother. Very poetic lines, rich in imagery, full of love. You must miss her a great deal. She sounds as though she was a free spirit.

I didn't think it would, but it did remind of a Danzig song called "mother".

It's an awesome song, don't feel slighted.

You write well. It flows logically while being pleasant to read. That's not really an easy task if you ask me.
