A Poem by MOON

Rhett

Maybe I will waken in the morning maybe I won't
You became the reason for my promised dawn
I was always counting the days lined with gold
Never once thinking it could oh so quickly fold

Standing and waiting for the time to be right
Always focusing on some future light
Till the present ran out and became the past
Death was a shadow waiting in the wings to be cast

Maybe I will waken in the morning maybe I won't
There is just too many days left for me to mourn
I always saw us together someday growing old
Now all my seasons are lined in freezing cold

Maybe I will waken in the morning maybe I won't
You taught me love was never to be owned

You are so welcome! :)
Love may never be owned yet it gives us so much spiritual scope to learn, to grow, to understand and finally to let go.This poem brings out the essence of love very beautifully Moon.

It is a wonderful message MOON. Thank you for sharing.
So sad but... It's superb! Beautifully written. I like the choice of words. The final line is perfect. Sometimes, life isn't fair. It put people in a situation where loving only cause pain.

Heartbreaking words....when a love you thought would last suddenly is gone, you wonder if it is worth waking in the morning. Truth is, it is ALWAYS worth it....because you have to love yourself first. Good write. Lydi**

I can say your words are beautiful, I can say this poem is heartbreaking and full of love and regret for not enough days, but nothing I say will ease this pain. For I know that the gentlest healing comes only with time, leaving a scar that is a painful memory. I hope I didn't read this wrong. I am sorry for your loss.
