Reflections

A Poem by MOON

If you knew the value of the sands of time

History speaks with sorrows on the incline

Was there a time we dressed in youth

Pastels the colour the only mood

Destiny was yet to finger all was grace

We touched and held it all in place

On the horizon we could change our time

Stuck here we could still out climb

The cesspool and human disgrace

We were all white Chantilly lace

The deep songs spoke to our soul

Winter was a season that was cold

Now the summer can’t warm the heart

We find all reasons we should be apart

So we kill the promise we kill en masse

We waltz in our religious bloody best

We take hostages to love and to war

We don’t reflect at any door

Words that speak to the deeper self...and I think each reader will take something different away from this piece. It's beautiful, in its imagery and flow. Loved the last lines: We take hostages to love and to war/We don’t reflect at any door
Profound words...perfect to end a poem intended to stir the mind beyond superficial acknowledgement.
Nicely done.

The lies of" global warming: as we bring in the "ice age", so to speak. But you said it so resoundingly poetic, Moon, and your voice echoes in my heart.

Thank you , go well.
I love the movement of the seasons through your words, the colors, the world of life, and even in beauty how our worlds can come apart. Painfully bittersweet.

A humanitarian message of awakening and leaving behind our shameful disgrace. I hope we can live in peace, harmony and tolerance. Good you have shared this truth....:))))

oh yes, to this...such truth in these words...no summer warmth anymore, no love....just a cold, cloudy sky of hate that reigns over us...we are hostage to the atrocities that keep happening in the name of gods that would never want to be associated with what goes on.
