GriefA Poem by MOONShaded by her scarf, her eyes full of unshed tears She
knew she would not see him but maybe he hears The
timbre in her heart, the cough that never clears Her
chest so heavy nothing is as it appears.
The
whispering wind, so many years She
sat her clock by him, all her fears Loving
him and sometimes shifting gears Memory
and restraints her head rears He
the steadfast heart he had no spears
For love’s
stark white walls and bloodied smears. He the
ship that never in a storm veers. The
calm that heals and parches all tears Now
in this graveyard flaming love sears. © 2016 MOONReviews
