Elizabeth

Elizabeth

A Poem by MOON

Elizabeth

The wind whispering I heard your name

Elizabeth not destined for fame

In my heart you are the glowing star

All my dreams I wonder where you are

For the soul is a splendored thing

It never dies it’s always on the wing

The butterfly flapping and the world knows

Love never falters it always grows

So lay your body to rest

You were one of the best

Not once an altered smile

I see you dancing in heavens aisle

A lovely tribute to one who is meant to be remembered; not forgotten. Yes, the soul is a splendid thing.
Excellent rhyme!

Thank you Sheila, go well.
This is so gentle, beautifully written and full of love. What a lovely tribute. Grief has touched me lately and so this is even more touching. These are difficult poems to write.

A sad story told in the poetry. The words were gentle and kind. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the hopeful ending.

When the leaves fall from the trees they become the fertile soil the roots of that tree feed from. Nothing dies, it just becomes something else. Death always hurts those left behind to know the absence in our lives. So sorry for your loss, dear Moon

Sorry for your loss. May Elisabeth's memory be a blessing. I believe butterflies bring us messages from those who are gone. Soft and lovely words. Lydi**
