Promise Destroyed

Promise Destroyed

A Poem by MOON

On the edge of the bluest sky

Tinged the grey embracing you

This summer, winter and fall

Influences my jaundiced view

There are but fleeting moments of joy

Then the rain with harsh thunder calls

Raising the forest marching towards you

This drumbeat of life holds no clue

One second illuminates the dark

Turns to night of blackest gloom

A series of footfalls around you arc

Everything in your midst destroy

They may say don’t forecast the doom

Your only moment of safety lying in the womb

I feel the pain of stolen trust in this, Moon. Feels weird to call it beautiful, but you wrote it that way :)

There are so many promises destroyed willingly or unwillingly. The promise or promises do hold clues and expectations. We all need to trust and be trusted when we give them or are given. An excellent rhyming poem...:)......

I do love the rhythm in this piece and i do love the reality it conveys. Life is not all about joy and happiness, it is also about taking risks and experiencing pains.
