AdversityA Poem by MOON
Some say dreams don’t come true it does not happen to me and you Yet all the miracles I have seen wait in the shadows to be weaned Though we walk through the valley of death often with adversity met There are blossoms in the dessert to be seen they don’t wait to be Show me a rose not needing rain to flower There is heartbeat stirring in an arid life Show me a person with the keys of power Who unlocks the pearly gates out of strife Some say life is a bloody battle we are led like sheep and cattle To the mediocre life of bone and survival and consuming of things The media like a baby rattle everything’s shiny and soft nothing of metal So we are earthbound trapped losing the shape and the span of our wings Give me a rose I will show you where they flower Give me a second of the miracle of life Give me a story waiting for its hour Give me a human reborn out of strife Some say dreams get caught in our head then thy leave us for dead We mourn grey clouds and rake with blood spattered ploughs We just don’t get we are the drivers of the dreams that just fled Where the tangles of our mind allowed all our visions endowed We are the rose bleeding perfume as we flower We are the essence of the miracle of life We are the heroes of the hour We are reborn from strife Some won’t wish on a downward spiralling star Some see the end picture and all the broken folds Some doubt the beauty of who they are
