Lost

Lost

A Poem by MOON

I looked to find you in the places I know

in the corners where we used to go

you were not there you were gone

i remember your eyes at two

how they lit up at the sight of an open flame

wide like a brown eyed dawn

now everything is black

 your eyes steel and  stoned

you are now all Crystal Meth

programmed for a fix

hurtling always to that desolate high

raking in all kinds of debts

i looked to find you in the places I know

in love where the heart grows

you were not there you were gone

Now when all is said and done

Honey lets make a pact

I am always open to hear

what  it is in your soul you lack

we looked to find you

in the quiet of our dreams

no Saving of the Souls

every moment we grow old

knowing you are gone.

The fear of losing someone to addictions that we love and cherish the moments with them. It is like losing the gift of love right in front of our eyes and nothing we can do about it for they don't want to cooperate with us. It is a painful experience indeed and you have captured it masterfuly with your awesome words...:)

You are so kind ...You are always welcome...:)
It is very painful and elusive to see someone you love so much in his own world, (often with even so many fears) You did expressed this so well in your poem Moon,

Losing someone in front of your eyes, is most painful, and you can't do anything... Even if talking doesn't help anymore... But you are still strong, as your ending explains, a richer communication. Very well done dear friend you have captured the pain, and hurt with grace.

We watch them being robbed of their essence, their vitality, feeling hopeless and helpless. Its sad for the victims and even sadder for the loved ones. A very poignant write. Thanks for sharing these feelings.

Wow this is intense and heartfelt. What suffering drug abuse causes not only for the addicted but for those they love. Beautifully written.

Thank you , I hope your sister finds the courage to overcome.
All the best!
A painful thing to experience. In many ways it is worse than a death. Because their personality is taken from them. Fading away/ from the inside out. An emotionally stirring piece

That feeling that someone we love is suffering through an addiction of some form and there is nothing we can do to stop it......it is a horrible place to find yourself in. It is so easy in that place to wish we could be more important than whatever they are chasing after. That we could become bigger than it is so we could change it. To see them beside us but know they are not really there. Or to know they are gone but still feel them. It is a place of darkness.

This is a powerful piece of writing, dear Moon. Some things are difficult to write but need to be written.
