Posted on February 25, 2013 By Phillippe Diederich Movies
When the movie Searching for Sugar Man won the best documentary Oscar, it was not just a win for the filmmakers and for the subject of the film, Sixto Rodriguez; it was a win for art and poetry everywhere.......

I like the poetic justice feeling of the piece, particularly liked the expression, ""Kismet’s alchemy ". I don't know whether it refers to the 1955 movie or simply destiny but I like the phrase.
'Some songs are poetry in motion.' This entire post is fascinating, intriguing.. everyone should read it!
Your poem's fairly brief but so full of feeling, like lush stage curtains slowly opening to show an amazing piece of theatre. 'You were the open secret seemingly lost in time.'
What a wonderful truth you've pointed me to .. thank you so much. How fantastic that Rodriguez was traced. Even more so that recognition's been shown to his amazing life and talents. I now have to trace the movie it, watch it and watch it. The lyrics of the songs in the piece you recommend really are exceptional .. can understand how people felt about him. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Moon..your diversity is amazing...I know the story well. Having been a struggling musician for much of my life before I gave it up for personal reasons, it is easy to relate to the trails and tribulations of a musicians life. Your poem is a well done tribute to his story.
