Puppet On A String

Puppet On A String

A Poem by MOON

He played me like a violin a puppet on a string

He told me his heart was only mine love would only bring

Golden warm sunsets and a pair of birds on the wing

Crimson dawns and church bells ours was more than a fling

So I swayed to the music then I felt the bee sting

Love was an uncut diamond and I would to it cling

Whispering sweet words in the night he spoke like a king

In the white morn like a joker arrows he would sling

He played me like a violin a puppet on a string

He made a bitter meal of everything I would bring

He shattered me like glass and broke the fine wedding ring

Then he left took a joyride with someone on a swing

He played her like a violin a puppet on a string

Some men think all Violins play the same. While others think All puppets
dance the same. But whooooa is the clown who thinks both. Enjoyed this
poem Moon, but not the Joker who inspired it.

great, the feelings of pain comes across, the meter reminded me of the poetry from the late American Civil War period, enjoyed it. Loved the line: Crimson dawns and church bells ours was more than a fling, wish I wrote that, that line just smacked me in the face. Good write.

betrayal is always the worst part of a relationship...it makes our life harder than it lighter.. Great write... I felt the sadness in beautiful words..

The line 'He played me like a violin' is powerful and conjours up images for me, the bitterness is sweetly worded

unfortunately the world is full of immature socially crippled individuals that need the ego boost, I liked the rhyming lines and the metaphors used to describe the behaviors.

Those puppeteers rarely change, I think. Once they get away with string pulling, they will just move on to the next one to amuse themselves with, and do it all over again. Very well expressed, my friend. I really like the metaphor and how you equated it both to the puppet and the violin. Nice work, Moon.

Love is sincerity and no one likes to be like a puppet on a string ... Take love as joke and play ... For some people are very sensitive and their world is fragile...
The poem is very nice and it rhymes beautifully ...
I like the best:
Golden warm sunsets and a pair of birds on the wing...

You are quite welcome
Romantic betrayal and unrequited love are two of the hardest things to write about, and the easiest. It's been said a million times but negative emotions are much easier to articulate than the positive ones. This is a really beautiful piece, and the style reminds me a bit of the old Romantic poets, Byron especially. Great work^^
