Darling

Darling

A Poem by MOON

Colours blend take on a different hue

Standing on a hill with a jaundiced view

I remember you were like morning dew

A dancer on stage an actor on cue

Tossing of a coin all shiny and new

A graceful eagle wingspan as it flew

So why was it that my love never grew

Darling I knew, you too good to be true

she said to me, "you are the most wonderful man in the world", and then the talons struck...it happened more than once

well done, nicely crafted...ought to be taught in high school

This is so beautiful. The imagery and emotions literally jump off the page of this piece. Great job :)

Something like this was in my horoscope today! A lot of the times really really REALLY good things are to good to be true. I understand completely.

this is sweet moon. i'm not sure if it speaks of unrequited love or a disintegration of love's perfect stillness. either way it's really touching.

My favorite thing about this poem is how lyrical it is. It naturally came across my mind as a song. The imagery was sweet. Hope, fate, love and heartbreak all converged at a joint that was this poem. Excellent work and use of many tones of emotion in a smooth gradient manner.

I feel very confused thinking how should I write a review on such a lovely piece.
It has made all the events picturesque and all the statements tangible.
I congratulate the poet for the fabulous gift to us.

This is beautiful .. touches delicate .. but so very well understood , by me ..

So much told, in so few words ...

Awesome, the first line "Colours blend take on a different hue" made me think we were going to down a love poem road and then to end with "Darling I knew you too good to be true" just leaves the reader with a twisted feel; I love it! The poems flows like a typical love poem but then drops you from the cliff at the end.

An astounding reference to a mistake I made. I made myself mister "perfect" and lost someone I cared about... Very touching thank you!
