Memory Lane

Memory Lane

A Poem by Bark's Lounge

Only fools Drive on this road
The best and worst of us are buried here
Certainly a burst of delight
The mind finds desserts of a time and place
that should be forgotten

An old man approaches me
He relays terse words
It is a speech of enlightenment
But I am afraid when I go to sleep

I lay my hands down for some kind of offering
This desert has dried me out and my hands are weathered
I'd rather die on that desert floor
Those old doors of my life are locked for good
So long Memory Lane
