Thunderstorm

Thunderstorm

A Poem by Monster

CLAP!

      BOOM!

         ROAR!

Lightning fills the sky

Wind bends the trees

Rain wets what was once dry

Thunder shakes the knees

CLAP!

      BOOM!

          ROAR!

Animals scurry to shelter

Clouds darken and thicken

Roofs are hit with a pelter

Out in the fields is a stray chicken

CLAP!

       BOOM!

          ROAR!

Families gather by the fire

Animals huddle in there dens

Insects are silent by the barbwire

Dry is the hay, for it's not in the pens

CLAP!

       BOOM!

            ROAR!

                              My favorite sound in time,

My favorite time to watch the sky,

Relaxing; it's the best time to try,

Being home; only when I watch my sky

I like lightening too...and thunder..even though it scares me..I lived in El Paso Texas and the lightening there was so beautiful when it stormed..:)

Very nicely crafted! Loved the flow and form of the piece. It really captured the essence and brought it out with a lively pulse.
Spend many a days driving cross Texas and the Mid-West, dodging or getting drenched.

Nice!
