Malnourished Souls

Malnourished Souls

A Poem by MzIzzy
"

This poem reflects the mental state of so many who are without faith and hope.

"

Malnourished Souls

Malnourished souls; have nothing to hold

For there is no faith, no trust, no hope

Life’s perils " constant storms

Uprooted

A state of devastation,

Manipulation;

Corruption swarms

They seek from man

Holding out their hands

to go,

unnoticed

A political system

Split

division

Promises of peace

That man can’t give,

Children; innocence taken

 In turmoil - they live

Struggling to exist beyond the obvious

Demons destroy

Outside and within

The malnourished soul doesn’t know

Where to begin

Looking for the answers, not knowing what to seek

Calling to the heavens

not humbled not meek

Blaming the Most High for what has come to be

He gives underserved loving-kindness

continuously

All things bad are result of

The enemy

Never will Jah try us with anything evil;

Cause us despair

The malnourished soul thinks He doesn’t care

In their eyes there is pain

Their hearts - tears stain

Thoughts of nothing to gain

The malnourished soul has nothing to hold,

For there is no faith, no hope, no trust

I like this. I thought I knew where it was going and I was surprised instead. Very touching.
