4- Wrath of the WurmA Chapter by MKnightiumWinter was a bit annoying
for Dew, even with discovering he could breath ice. He spent most of this time
in his house, but not alone for once; Eric on the bed with Pyra next to him,
his Ignis that Dew hooked him with, as well as Turas; sitting in a wheelchair
due to him still recovering. The four of them were pondering something to do
during this time; Solomon was gone off with several of the other parents to
make contact with one of the villages that had gone dark a few hours ago. Out
of all of them in the room, Dew was the only one fully focused on it; worrying
for those out there intently. "We have to go over
there." He finally said, everyone
turning to look at him with a look of confusion and shock. "No telling
what could have attacked; the book gives me a lot of options, and not one is
good for any of our folks." "So how do we do that
then Dew?" Turas inquired, as he sat up
in his wheelchair. "We got no means to get out of the village without
being seen, I'm in a wheelchair, and Pyra here leaves a big trail through the
area by burning anything she's hovering over." Pyra shrugged, as Dew
pondered that. Turas was right; only way they kept her from doing that
constantly was through her forming a covenant with Eric, restraining her
powers, but even then that happened from time to time. "I'll go alone
then." Dew lamented, standing and
approaching the door, grabbing his harness and wing restrains. Eric was first
to get up, afraid for his friend. "But Dew, it's not safe
out there: the cold could take you down as well as any Monster Women that could
find you." "I don't care; haven't
we been over this before Eric? I'm gonna make sure they're all alright out
there; I have fire and ice at my disposal anyhow." He was out the door before anyone could stop him, and
already began to run down the dirt road; snow covering the ground as he ran on
all fours, passing by numerous villagers on his way, his journey not stopped by
them or the nipping cold. However, he was stopped when he collided with
someone; both of them hitting the cold ground a moment later. He rose
immediatly, spewing apologies, before he saw just who he hit. Crimson blood hair cascaded
down her back, reaching her upper back. Her crystal cyan eyes stared at Dew,
holding not anger but curiosity. Her face was round and soft, and her nose cute
and button as her lips were soft and plush. A flowing white dress covered her,
as she slowly rose to her feet, wearing black boots, and a small coat around
her chest. Dew found her beyond breathtaking, the cold completly out of his
head now, as she smirked a bit at his shyness. Dew shook his head, and was
about to apologize once more, but she spoke first. "It's alright, wasn't
your fault for hitting me." "But I was running
and-" "It's okay, but please
be more careful." Her voice was pleasing and
kind, as she pat his head kindly, before Dew nodded lightly, and continued on
his run, but not before stopping again. "I almost forgot ma'am,
what is your name?" "It's Kylie Ina, and
yours?" "Dew the Drake." He spoke, vanishing into the underbrush of the forest a
moment later, as Kylie pondered to herself about Dew. He seemed like a nice
guy; a bit too jittery but overall a nice person. A smirk crossed her face, as
she hoped to see him again in the future.
Dew glided across a large
gorge, landing a moment later as he deftly fixed his wing restraints. He was
close to the village, and he could already hear chaos, quickly clambering up a
rock as he watched what transpired. The men were being battered
away like mere dolls to the agrressor. Her lower body was long and serpentine;
most coated in rock hard scales sage scales. Most of her scales covered her
vital areas, breasts, arms, but not nethers. Her arms were large, clawed and scaled,
and her long black hair cascaded down her back as her vivid amber eyes scanned
the area, a look of ferocity and pride. Dew knew damn well what she was; a
Wurm, a dangerous, powerful Monster Women. Dew could already see the carnage;
numerous buildings collapsed, many men on the ground either near death
or...pass that threshold, and many men still trying desperatly to repel her.
Dew felt fear, horror at what he saw, but that all changed when she cleared
them all out with one swipe of her tail, and now stared down Solomon. A smile
spread over her face, and she lunged forward, as Solomon suddenly vanished,
appearing on her back before slamming his fist into her neck; not even fazing
the Wurm as she grabbed his arm and slammed him into the ground; her hand over
his neck. "Father!" Dew shouted, before diving towards her; the Wurm never
seeing him coming as he slammed into her head; sending her off his father and
allowing Dew to scramble to his feet and help Solomon up, only for the father
and son to stare down an extremely displeased Wurm. "New prey hurt
me..." She hissed, as her eyes
locked onto Dew. "New prey looks...strange...you're gonna be my
husband..." Again? Solomon was about to tell Dew to run, but his son
had already sprung into action, narrowly rolling past one of her claw strikes
as he slapped at her back and stomach with his tail; upsetting her only a bit.
He managed to dodge past another smash from her tail, and grasp her back;
raining down punches on it, some actually causing her damage, before she
grabbed him by the chest and flipped him; sending poor Dew through one of the
damaged stone houses. Dew stood up a moment later, a bit bruised and hurt, but
overall still standing. "Why won't you fall
husband?" She pondered, Dew recalling
Wurms were simple minded. "That hit usually drops anyone." "I'm a lot stronger
than I let on." To prove his point, he took
a deep breath, and spewed a torrent of ice at her; the Wurm taking the full
attack...and not flinching at all. She bolted at Dew, and he wasn't even able
to use fire before she barreled into him; breaking a few ribs as she literally
sent him through 3 walls before he skidded to a painful stop. "Dew!" Solomon suddenly phased next to his son, helping him up
as the Wurm slithered closer. Dew, despite the mass amount of pain he was in,
still stood, and the Wurm stopped. "Why don't you stay
down please?" She cocked her head, as she
moved a bit closer. "I promise being my husband won't be a bad
thing." "I'll never
surrender..." Dew hissed, as he shook off
the horrendous pain he felt. "I'll never surrender to anyone. As long
as I draw breath, I will stand firm, and face all foes!" He took a
step forward...and the ground literally quaked with each step he took. He
opened his maw, and when he breathed, a cone of lime green energy came; that
upon even making contact with the Wurm, sent her flying back! Everyone stared
at Dew with a look of pure shock and awe, as he breathed a strange green mist
onto the ground, plants growing around him. All the men were shocked as hell,
but none so much more than Solomon. He had a hunch a few days ago that Dew
could use every element dragons could...but this was living proof. Solomon soon
began to question if he should tell Dew the truth when they got home...
The Wurm hit the ground once
more, Dew standing before her, the ground still shaking with each of his steps.
Dew took a deep breath, and the look in her eyes made him cease his attack. She
held fear in her eyes, fear that caused Dew to feel guilt. He offered his hand
to her, the Wurm looking up at Dew with a look of curiosity, before taking
Dew's hand. "Look, there are easier
ways to get a husband; wiping out a whole village isn't the way." He pat her shoulder before turning away. "It's
best to just be calm, not trying to be fierce and dangerous." She
waited in silence for a few moments, as Dew and the others all began the walk
back to their home; the threat solved now. The Wurm continued watching him, as
her mouth slowly formed into a smile. Dew was perfect; kind, powerful, and
youthful. She hoped she'd see him again...maybe sooner than he expected...
Dew rested in bed, huffing a
bit out of irritation. According to the Healer, Dew needed to rest for several
days to mend his wounds. Due to the heat of the fight and the adrenaline
pumping through him, Dew never realized he had 3 broken ribs, a fractured shoulderblade,
and a few scrapes and burns. Dew felt a little pain, but it was still one of
those things. He huffed once again, as he heard the door open. "Dew, you have a
visitor." He turned, and a smile
crossed his face for once today. "Kylie." She smiled when she saw Dew, as Solomon stepped out of
them room, leaving the two teenagers to themselves. Instead of Dew speaking,
she did, asking about him and his origins, as they had a long and enduring
conversation, while Solomon loomed outside. He walked into the living room and
sat in his chair, a scowl of thought on his face. He had planned to tell Dew
the truth of what he knew, since finding the drake years ago, but he knew the
truth would really mess him up...considering it involved an ancient enemy and the
world hanging by a thread to her wrath. But seeing the kid so happy...he
couldn't do it. Maybe he could keep him hidden for a few more years, hopefully
without the truth becoming known to the drake.
...that by the laws of
nature...he was never meant to exist...
