A PearlA Poem by moo
A white pearl against the black night sky
Your radiance is superior to our drab grey colors But you hate us so. Might I ask why? You cause us such pain Pain as sharp as your wits Pain as hot as your flames. I wager you hate us, oh so We are nuisances Of the Earth Black as the soot and dirt Created to be trodden upon By your radiance. Your hate grows As time passes. And within us is a spark A fiery spark that grows As time passes. That spark has grown A spark that consumes our very beings A spark that has grown into a blazing fire. A white pearl against the black night sky Your cold Rays chilling us to the bone. Why, oh why, must you hate us so? You cause us such pain Empty pain as dull as your wit Empty pain as cold as your heart. I wager you hate us, oh so You think you are God And we the Devil. I wager you hate us, oh so You revile in gluttony And we in our dim hopes. As time passes We know this to be true. As time passes This is true. You are but a man No God or divine deity. You are but a white man And we are but black men. © 2014 moo |
