BUTTERFLY

BUTTERFLY

A Poem by MICHAEL

Scarlet curtain
splotches of brown and beige
grays mostly
Wind swirls between her wings
Words bleed upon the page
Stop this flow of life's most precious
Gift freely given
Past puddles on the wall

Beauty comes at a cost
Ugly is easy
No matter what you do
She'll knock at your door
Might as well let her in
Pink pants and knit vest
Charm dripping off her sleeve
As much as you resist
The long nights of loneliness, succumb
You know you'll be beaten, brow down

This is very nice. I like the descriptive part of the butterfly.

This is really interesting and so full of metaphor. I wish I could do them justice. To me it seems to be about a woman who although no good for the person in the poem is none the less irresistible. Am I close at all? I'd love to hear your interpretation on it if you're willing to share. This is a great little poem!
