ARMADILLOS

ARMADILLOS

A Poem by MICHAEL

Crows rise,

another grey dawn

Riders enter the welcome warmth

Huddle together in corners

Curl up in their armadillo skin

Parkas and leather boots

Randomness

this wanton force

beyond comprehension

Meaningless

that it exists at all

Caterpillars crawl across the sunset

A song is not a song

until it soothes the soul

so sing along

Skill and luck

White butterflies

say goodbye

Dawn to dusk
