CHRYSALIS

CHRYSALIS

A Poem by MICHAEL

CHRYSALIS

There is danger in writing
of the misty past
Distorted, blurred images
but the power lasts
Coos Bay in the midnight rain
Six hundred miles in one day
Pacific alone
Not far from Lewis and George
One light on main
Strange wooden bench
Jack Daniels in my fist
Toasting freedom and the road
