DARK APARTMENT

DARK APARTMENT

A Poem by MICHAEL

She rises from her bed
soaked in sweat
clothes squandered
retrieves her robe
Cold water splashes through her hair
Don't look in the mirror
Kitchen, dishes undone,
one last beer, snipes a butt
Draws the curtains
dazzling white

Where'd he go
in the middle of the night
Funnel my love
give up my delight
Oh, one pause before the storm
Words leap from the page
Beautiful silhouette
Lament the passing of the day
Sunset on Biscayne bay

He's out beyond the lamplight
thinking of you
the way you look, the way you walk,
the way you smell, the way you taste
the way you feel when he brushes his hand across your face
the way you talk, piercing his soul with brown eyes that melt
Five senses are not enough

Belief, beware

a bit eerie - she was with him and he left? She was a one night stand he can't forget? I was a bit lost about it. The words leaping from the page - did he leave her a note?
