Great Grandpa JoeA Poem by MHCCIn the time of cowboys, way back when Times were rough, everythin' had been Cowboys wandered the lands on horse And blizzards blew cross the land with great force Cattle nibbled on short grass that grew This was how it was back then, all of it's true
My great grandpa Joe was a cowboy himself Had a hard time with grandma always climbin' the shelves His faithful ol' cowdog named Walter the Third Had a might fuss with worms, you could always be sure Great grandpa's cattle seemed to always have itches And his trusty ol' ranch horse had a great fear of witches
Cowboys and cowgirls gathered from all sorts of towns To come have some viddles at grandpa joe's house They butchered the fat calf from over there yonder The main dish was beef and was not to be squandered
The folks were might happy with grandpa joe's grub So they threw a ho-down for grandpa's kin Snub Now Snub was a crazy man, never had kids So he dressed up Joe's pigs in baby-blue bibs
The pigs didn't mind so much as Joe did So joe made snub an awefully bad bid He said "Snub you crazy old man you dirty old goat Go back where you came from, go back to your boat"
Snub left in anger and burned down the town And this is why you never let your kin down
