The Play

Deep within the deepest darkest corner
Of the never ending Universe it stood
With all the glory of it’s bygone era
Draped beneath the mountain’s frozen hood

Standing at attention was the forest
Witnessing the ending of the day
The evening sun soon setting in the distance
Will draw the star filled curtains on the play

The drama’s been repeated over ions
Whispered through the forest by a muse
It stands alone while holding up the heavens
Reflected in a mirror of browns and blues

How can the world ignore his awesome splendor
He does his best to help as you can see
Tomorrow he will greet the morning’s sunshine
And keep the sky from falling to the sea

Wonderfully woven words.....enchanting poetry with excellent philosophical underpinnings.

Thank you for reading and the very appreciated critique Jane, 8-)
The last lines were the best for me 'Tomorrow he will greet the morning’s sunshine
And keep the sky from falling to the sea'
Such beautiful imagery, very well wrote.
