RED ON GREEN...A Poem by WrittenmentsRED ON GREEN © Michael Franz Whitby
On this back road scenery of the unchanged’…
…where the average building stands some twenty storey’ Twelve women are seen crying! As a black and brown dog’s tail remains in locked motion Because on such a day, the sun never fades’ from too many clouds In this location which has been traveled on from all those countless footsteps Back road settings’… …where the scenery seems to remain at constant Ones’ walking mode becomes favorite form of transportation……well… …it seems to take on an individualistic life’ of their own Showing such characteristic artistry in details All in full colour!
A back road… …where the road itself is overrun with green living plants Despite the fact, they were buried upon… …with substances’ not healthy for any living thing daily survival But survived they did! Shrubs like those found in that greener pasture where cattle craze all day Just with more bruises from been trampled upon continuously Potholes filling back road… …road where the scenery lingers in time Women on their knees! While the dog’s tail is kept fully erected, like one of those attack sequences Its’ black and brown shaggy coat beautifully contrasted from the pasture greenness’ While that big beautiful sun continues shinning way in the aboveness’ Ever looking so fresh!
Cracked-damaged-asphalted back road… …where the jounery takes a mere five minutes in walk But for some untold reason One’ often gets lost in timelessness Brought on by ones’ helplessness in stare Of those twelve mothers on their knees… …crying! In the middle of the greenest possible pasture Location where trees and grass become one in sameness’ Cows stand their distant ground… …from a black bull standing so proud, close but not too far from the barking dog A bull that had defended its’ territory Doing a fine job of it, leaving all four of its invaders… …dead! The last to go still clutching a blood red bandana Now in the arms of a weeping mother…
…what else could cause twelve women to be on their knees in the middle of a pasture? Below such temperature on a most sunny of summer days
End drawings’ of children at play on very dangerous turf, gone terribly wrong Male farmers stand in distant-disbelief But still the mothers cry over red shirts of all those fallen adventurers’… …mother still holding the youngest as final breaths are taken The end result of now most famous ‘Big Bad Black Bull’ Still standing for now… …ever so proud! © 2016 Writtenments |
