HUNGERLESS’

© Michael Franz Whitby

The cheetah, the fastest land animal

At the time of hunger

Will reach zero to sixty miles per hour within three seconds

Retaining full meaning of the term “hunger strike”

The blue shark being always water bound

At the time of hunger

Can reach speed twenty to sixty miles per hour

Deep or shallow, number one in water hunger strike

The peregrine falcon, the master of the air way

At the time of hunger

Dive for survival, ninety meters per second

Considered the best at flight hunger strike

Permanently located on the surface of the earth

The most dominant creature

Humans, especially man-kind

Their most enjoyable pastime is to feel that hunger strike

When it comes to man-kind

The mammal in this ‘verse’

One should not expect ‘betterment’

At time of hunger strike

Man-kind enjoys the exotic

And make excuses for attainment

For negatives without cause or justification

They have no control over the craving hunger strike

Man-kind would use the following

Towards their acquisition

Of the cheetahs, sharks and falcons

For their satisfaction of hunger strike

Often comes in two formats

First, the bullet via the gun

Second, the arrow via crossbow

Perfect shots fulfill hunger strike

Final destination to be a trophy

Of an unjust hunting practice

Makes you think….

The mementos of a hunger strike

Think of the others

Think validation, think unselfishness

Think of one of the originators

Think of Gandhi - hunger strike

Individuals with these habits should consider their actions

For civilization before, civilization now

And civilization not yet born

By stepping back from the hunger strike

So who has the worst hunger strike?

Humans, the man-kind

In their hungerless quest

On non survival feast

These current men have a different interpretation

The meaning got lost in translation

They have to revisit

The terminology

Hunger strike!

reversing forward, future is history!
