New Loves Create New Worlds

Love poem

I never knew I'd find him,

But suddenly it was you.

You stood there over me,

Daring me to look through.

And yes, I was scared,

But your gaze said that you didn’t care,

So I took the plunge and searched through your soul,

And never, for even a moment, did I think I’d behold,

You’re lovely within, not just without,

Purer than anything I have ever known about.

I hate that I fell,

Because I had to fall so hard.

But now that I’m here,

Right where you are,

Now I know what it’s all about,

And maybe it’s not something I should fear.

You are my weakness, my strength, my guide,

I always wanted to sail, but you taught me to fly.

While I would have stayed planted,

You lifted me up,

And showed me that half,

Wasn’t good enough.

I gave myself to you, and you to I,

So it’s become where I’m confused.

Am I that little girl who used to fear,

Those things she didn’t understand,

Or something new?

I don’t know how to say these things that I do…

So darling, just know, I will forever love you.
