Deluding MasksA Poem by MikiLiar... Liar... Liar...
Deluding Masks
Liar... He caught me off guard He ensnared me with his words Confessed his love for me
Liar... He held me tight Spoke caring words of love I felt his warmth and kindness
Liar... I opened up to him Welcomed him Always too shy to reply When he said "I love you"
Liar... Once he was close enough He ripped my heart out Throwing it to the ground It shattered like glass Upon the hard wooden floor
Liar... He told me he didn't want me Told me the love wasn't there Had it all been a lie?
Liar... My closest friend She wrapped me in the warmth of her heart I gathered my heart shards Gluing them together Slowly, one by one
Liar... My tears fell Down my pink cheeks My heart slowly healing She smiled kindly Comforted me in my time of need
Liar... My back is stabbed By my closest friend She runs to him How many has he deceived?
Liar... My heart Once again is shattered The pain is unbearable This secret is mine To keep and to tell
Liar... We are all in a grand play Wearing our fake feelings Like masks in our performance Some are true and kind Others deceive and lie
Liar... How many of you Wear lying masks Deluding me from your true face?
Liar... Who can I trust? Who will deceive me? Who will hurt me? Who will cherish me?
Liar... So many faces So many masks They smile at me Which ones are fake?
Liar... Who wears the mask? The mask of deception? Who is the liar? Is it you? © 2011 MikiAuthor's Note
