And I Will Love You Forever

And I Will Love You Forever

A Poem by ME Barstow
"

A poem that can be read three ways...

"

I will love you forever (too much thought)
And I don’t know why (have to get out)
The tears I’ve shed
Lead me not in the right direction (weakness pouring)
But merely astray (down streaming cheeks)

Further away from what I want
What I need
My heart’s desire (come to me, sweet death)

Just to lay in your arms (take away the pain)

Who will read this? (Not you)
Whose blood does my words spill?
Who will I kill?

I know you are listening (keeping secrets to stay alive)
I know you’re there (always there)
Constant companion
Never alone (but never among love)
And pain overwhelms (expanding, blood sings)
Open the veins or you will explode (Freedom!)

Too much thought
Too little sleep (I’m going to die)

But words flow (words are blood)
And flow (thought is life)
When will they stop? (Take me, I am ready)

Can’t stop to think
Can’t wait for logic

Throw yourself into the ocean (no one will care)
Water consumes thought
Extinguishing the flame

Cut off oxygen
Can’t breathe
Don’t want to survive

The air is heady
Anticipation grows thick
Building, churning, ready to emerge

No.
Stop.

This is madness! (And I don’t care)

Leave me alone!
Leave me in peace!
Never again do I want to see your face

I am a ghost
I am nothing
Why do you waste your time
With someone who cannot fight back?

And I have no reason to live
I have no reason (it was swallowed by the ocean)
And I love you

Je t’aime pour toujours
Et je ne sais pas pourquoi

Who am I
To live in your shadow?
Je suis un fantôme
