The Vase

Every vase is different. Some are thin, others are made of sturdier materials, but all have the possibility to break. Once broken, a vase can no longer retain what it has inside. With time and effort, it is possible to fix the vase, to put all its pieces back together, but it will be weaker than before. Once a vase is broken, it has a higher chance of breaking again. And when that happens, it will create more pieces than there were in the original break, be more difficult to put back together, take more time. Every time a vase breaks it becomes more fragile. Never is every piece put back in. There are always holes in the original exterior, always leaks. No matter how sturdy it may look, a vase can always break if shaken hard enough.

Every one of us, we are all a vase threatening to break in the earthquake that is life.
