Fourteen Days

Fourteen Days

A Poem by M.A. Maxwell

She was wild
She was my lover
In the night
I dreamed of no other
With our eyes
We gazed at one another
Fourteen days of loving her I thought we'd never cry
She was mine
She was my purpose
In the day
She made me nervous
We knew our hearts
Would not desert us
Fourteen days of loving her I thought we'd never cry
She had to fade
Another passing season
In my mind
I couldn't find a reason
it was time
That committed this treason
Fourteen days of loving her I thought we'd never cry
Fourteen days of loving her I thought she'd never die
