The
door opens without a sign of a person coming in. As the door gets wider, Ashley
emerges from outside and into the house. She look around the house before
moving towards the wooden dressing table. She puts the ring down on the table. “Chester?!”
She calls him out, but no response comes back to her. “Chester?!” She tries
again. She was about to enter the living room, but her ears catch a noise
coming from the second floor. She repeatedly calls out for Chester as she walks
upstairs, but no answer comes back to her. “Is he okay?” She wonders. She
delves further inside the house to search for Chester. She can’t find him
downstairs and it looks like he’s not upstairs. Ashley doesn’t expect a
realization to come to her. “Maybe Chester really did defeat the curse. Maybe
it’s gone for good. I hope so.” Ashley turns back to leave the house, but there
was something her eyes can’t see. A silhouette. “Chester, is that you?” She
walks halfway to get a closer look, but she soon regrets it when the sight
becomes visible. Leslie emerges from the floor, coming towards Ashley. Ashley
runs the other direction to hide from the curse, but to her horrifying
surprise, another veined eyes appears from the other side. She drops herself on
the floor at the sight of another being at another side of her path. She tries
to crawl away, but realizes Leslie was still there coming towards her. Ashley
can’t move anymore, and she no longer feels safe. There was nothing around her
to defend herself with, and there was no one else in this house but her and the
ghosts. She wants to run, and she wants to scream, but she was in an abandoned
house, between supernatural beings. All she could do now was shield her eyes
from the horrific sight and prays she doesn’t suffer getting killed and hopes
to find peace in the afterlife. All
seem lost on Ashley, but the veined eyes floating from behind her passes her
and towards Leslie’s direction. © 2015 MAMatters
