Reluctant Warrior

Reluctant Warrior

A Poem by Warrior Spirit

I don’t want to fight.

Yet life…life doesn’t stop coming.

It doesn’t give up.

Life is relentless

With only brief, sporadic moments

Of rest.

I don’t want to fight.

Yet with every step I take, it seems

I must raise my sword…

I must raise my hands…

I must face some adversary

Some force must be conquered.

And I…

And I

Evidently am the one called upon

To do it.

I was made for this

Built to last.

I struggle not to fight

Yet my head is filled with violence.

My anger is quick and vicious

My wrath is terrible to behold.

It is not something I am proud of

Not something I even wanted.

Yet Life, once again

Decided for me this fate.

So I fight with what I have to.

I win. And I lose.

But I always represent.

You will not conquer me easily…

Even if I fight reluctantly.

You can sense the reluctance in the warrior with his way of thinking and choice of words.
But even though he's struggling with his inner self, he still goes on and fights.
great piece and descriptions.
