Shikis Lament

This was inspired by the anime SHIKI, which is a terror/ phsychological anime that revolves around the concept of what defines a human. Shiki is the word used for the vampires in the show.

Shikis Lament

No one is in the right

We all strive for survival

And in the end who won?

You who turned on yourselves and lost your identity

Or us, forsaken by those we love and murdered with cold hands

We came to understand your strife and our grim fate

So don’t pride yourself with a winning title!

In this game of life and death there are no winners

Simply different forms of reward and punishment

Survival of the fittest? HA!

Don’t make me laugh!

Were all human here so let me help you understand!

To the outsider we lost, but so did you!

You lost your humanity, the thing most dearest to you!

I’d call you foolish, but that is a lie

You were able to live, and in the end we all died

There is no victor

We are all just ruthless killers

Playing the game of life

Kill or be killed was the single rule

And even if you follow it

Death is the same for us all

That is the Shikis lament

Author's Note

You won't get this unless you watch the show....so....ya, thoughts, criticism? I couldn't really get my thoughts down well on this-_-) But people in the fandom are making me mad because their taking sides... THE POINT OF THE ANIME IS TO NOT TAKE SIDES!! ITS TO MAKE YOU UNDERSTAND HOW WERE ALL thE SAME! Of course the humans had to kill them, they would have been killed if they didn't, but the point is that (like sunako says) "there is no particularly sad death , thats what makes it scary". The point is to not take sides and understand the nature of survival. Nobody is right, but the development is inevitable, its like...destiny in a way... but not in that connotation... oh well I'm ranting:/) If you wanna share some ideas on the show or discuss something about it with me, feel free to^^) Mabye I can sit down and explain it better too someone...
