The Inanimate soliloquyA Poem by MADAMA puppet being used. Who do you really like? The puppet? Or the puppeteer?
The Inanimate soliloquy
I have words But you say them for me Your'e like a ventriloquist! The curtains open but I'm not scared An ensemble of nightmares march before me Their leeching eyes look inside my empty shell The Grinding teeth of puppets isn't heard by me Soak up my fears Wipe away my tears I'll put on a show for my dear puppeteer Pull on the invisible strings once more please! Again and again I hear the fabricated love I tremble with fake excitement to please and seem humble My jaw clanks, spewing false words "Encore!" I say, or rather he... I tell myself I'm not tired This is our last show So i dance once more I feel the trembling laughter at my clumsy actions How lovable am I really? How tolerable is my satire? Who is it that you love? The puppet? Or the puppeteer? In the end it doesn't mater As long as HE still loves me But once the curtain goes down I don't get the normal reassuring pat He puts me on a shelf far up in the sky I peer down to his wicked head and curse at him Or rather myself For trusting... What a foolish puppet I am, to think I would be loved like a real boy... © 2014 MADAMAuthor's Note
