Haunting, but beautiful. I have met people who radiate that kind of compassion, and caring. But run into that kind of healing and purity less and less these days. Maybe, because I have little innocence left in me to recognize it anymore, when it is present. Thank you for sharing this

Beautiful and yet for me, terribly frightening. The words and the image are in opposition in my opinion. I see a sacrifice to the gods of the unknown, far below her, in the mists lies that vast and deep ocean of human soul. How can there be goodness when she appears perched, so precariously, swung out over a misty emptiness. Perhaps it is the moons light that gives sight to the blind? And yet we are talking about "her." Is this the woman or the a metaphor for the moon or both? What is this essence that is intoned as incandescent, glowing? Is it her beauty, her form, her willingness to take great risks into the unknown heights above a vast unknown? As a reader, I plead for her life... I plead for clarity. Please don't leave me dangling over this abyss of confusion and potential misunderstanding. I beg you!

Thank you for the read...I am saddened that this presentation is so ugly I could not get rid of that.. read moreThank you for the read...I am saddened that this presentation is so ugly I could not get rid of that brown background when last I tried...anyway yes I can see how the picture may not reflect the intent.
In truth the poem is written by a character from my novel series...in this tale the main Characters are Elves and have certain mystical qualities with powers attached...the girl of whom he writes is Mara and she has an exceptionally bright aura which can be seen readily and yet she herself is unaware of her goodness, light and power. Being in her presence broadens ones understanding and is indeed like seeing for the first time...
the picture i chose here was not meant to represent Mara as much as to represent the innocence of all children...but it makes me smile to note the ocean because Mara and her suitor meet and become an item while on a exploratory expedition on the ocean...and she does sadly later die within the deeps many years later
I love to read and i love to write.
I have six novels written in need of good critiques and much editing.
I am the mother of eight children and grandma of four.
I am a homemaker first and also .. more..
