Shadows in Memory

Shadows in Memory

A Poem by M. Kari

Shades of who we once had been

together we danced

and pranced

Courtly specters for the crowd

And wasn't the music loud?

It's been so long

since last we danced

and the strings of her violin played

Lost in the shadows of time and death

we think of all that's been lost

Only in memory can I hear that sweet song

in memory for you do I long

Shadows and shades is all that's left

Your form I cannot now hold

If ever I could I certainly would

sweet love you're dearer than gold
