In Our Nature

It is in our nature to want for,
the things that we do not have.
Sometimes the things we want,
are ones we just cannot have.
Our wants turn into needs,
and the fiery ambition,
 fueled by greed,
hurts countless people.
We do not care.
But a single drop,
 can cause many ripples.
When everything we've done,
 to attain that need,
turns out all in vain,
regret resounds within us,
but we cannot change the past.
