Barely heard

Barely heard

A Poem by Lyrical Love
"

We...hear what we want to hear.

"

                A silent little cry
Barely heard in the distance
Of life for the busy man
The hustle and bustle, are steady
Like a song…
The lack of compassion for others
~is wrong
Quiet the sounds of greed, anger, and contention
Feel the hunger, and lack
Of the little ones not mentioned
…living on the streets, with a sister, and strife
                                And no Mother…
Or Father to make a life…
…for the silent little cry,
                Barely heard in the distance.

I have a soft place in my heart for this subject. I love how you describe their voice
and the attention we as a whole society show them as
"A silent little cry barely heard in the distance"
I feel like that's dead true!

"The hustle and bustle, are steady
Like a song
The lack of compassion for others
~is wrong
Quiet the sounds of greed, anger, and contention
Feel the hunger, and lack of the little ones not mentioned"

These lines were beautiful and well put inside this piece.
You captured the mood and the emotion of this matter perfectly!

Nice metaphors!
I could easily paint a picture of what you were speaking.

This is great! It leaves room for the reader to paint their own picture. For me what I see is that we get wrapped up in our own daily lives so much that we forget the children. The children of the streets or even our own children at home. How many children have we heard of that actually have a house and not a home? No concern given.. don't know where they are.. until something terrible happens.. and then they say why God?

Interesting and thought provoking ink..

Love the metaphors! The play with words is great and flowing nicely.Well written
The lack of compassion in the world is in part the feeds the negativity around us, eating us as humans towards each other,it grows as we grow,a harmonic balance would solve so many debates and broadening of ones mind to the concerns of the one they are judging or controlling our worlds people.

The cry of the helpless is too often ignored, but I don't understand it. I don't understand the cold-hearted or the indifferent. Don't they know that we're all in this world together? Very touching, Lyrical Love

It sounds like a song...
There are several conclusions that can be drawn in the readers mind and I believe that's what makes good poetry!

Nicely done... The interpretations that I got of this story simply wouldn't stop! This is a metaphor for so many things... As for the form...I was a little distracted by the way that the poem was put on the page, I'm not sure why, because others seemed to like it, but probably just a personal thing. The writing was strong, though, and I did enjoy the read.
