The angels cryA Poem by Lyric
The angels cry,
At heavens gate, They hold their tongues, And accept our fate, But then they scream, "You've lost! To late! You have no more time! We worn you hunans, we sceam in rhyme! And we can't relate! For our holiness is sublime! But it's time for you to clean the slate! To the books! We and one more hymn!" The angels wonder, who's to blame, How a most loved creation could grow in fame, By lacking sense, And lacking tame. "We are tired if this! Free will is not a game! Use your brains! They have gone lame! " Two girls step up, Their faces the same, And stand on the pedestal, "Gabriel has retired. " They both claim, "He's given up, there is no more need, for him to take souls, when the humans bleed, at each others hands, have plans to kill, and hearts to fill with murder and greed. " "It's on their own death the scoundrels feed!" Sceams and elderly angel with a head full of beads. "I heard the same as the girls, I have the same lead! " Says a women holding a book, but to excited to read. "Gabriel has nothing left to do, it's terrible and barbaric, but I'm afraid it's true. Now he stays, in his house, sleeping all day, receiving cakes from his spouse! The humans need him no more than an elephant a mouse. " "They are killing themselves! Guns in hand and hearts on shelves! " Says an angel in the corner. "I know, I know, but we must not fret, For they haven't come over to the dark side quite yet. I have started them off but the game is not set. " The voice was dark, And sent a spark, Of hatred and violence, And on their hearts did it park. "Evil I can only promote, but most if not all, would still let goodness rock their boat." At that he disappears, the angels shiver in disgust, and shiver in fear. "I suppose. " Says the woman. "That they may change over the years." © 2015 Lyric |
