For the cities

For the cities

A Poem by Lyric
"

For the cities.

"
This is for the cities
I write this for you hopefully,
L.A.,
Miami,
Atlanta,
Newark,
NYC,

For all of us who grew up in,
or around a hood,
The lesser people,
Everyone from a city,
Who are like kin to me,
For my people,
Whether I want to admit it or not,
we have got,
So long to go,
We have flying monkeys but only care enough,
To call insect patrol.

We say things are okay now,

And I'm just like,

City open up your eyes.

You're gonna fall of your bike.

Open your eyes and see.

Look at our world,
And what it might always be,

Like Dr. King I have a dream,
But it's not for freedom,
It's that we'll finaly realize we're free,

Because we are.

We might be smaller but,
But we could go so far potentially.
We are the black tar that nobody cares about,
That nobody wants to see,
But our stickiness is still what holds everything else together,
We mean nothing to a lot of people,
But if we did,
If we had everything everyone else had,
If we were had as many conveniences,
If we had as much money,

I kind of want to laugh,
Cause,
It really is funny,

The truth iv realized,
Is more calming than milk,
And Sweeter than honey,

Without our misfortune,
Our jobless families,
And not enough to avoid abortion,

No one else could be better off,
No one else would have their good fortune.
