SHOOTING STARS

The night was peaceful, yet almost hauntingly so,
as I sat gazing at the stars, God's plan began to unfold.
My thoughts had been entwined with scripture and song,
as I sat silently beholding the night sky for so long.

I watched as the stars that shone faithful and bright,
seemed to whisper my name proclaiming, "Soon things will be right".
Then, as it seemed, came fireworks of light and sound,
full of God's richness in intricate shades, cascading down.

It seemed an eternity as lights did abound,
as if God had rolled back the sky and stepped down.
The lights so sparkled, more pure than white,
Yet from other angles, a rainbow of colors filled my sight.

I heard, "Come up hither, daughter of truth",
"Come up now, for the Father has sent for you".
In the twinkling of an eye and less than a flash,
I threw off all earthly bounds, donned my robe, fastened my sash.

I beheld His raiment, the whitest of all whites,
encrusted with jewels of every kind and size.
Strappings of gold and silver too,
finished his clothing, right down to his shoes.

His eyes were bright and full of fire,
Yet in those eyes I found my desire.
For in that face as looks were exchanged,
I knew my acceptance, while He took my blame.

As quickly as appearing we were off in flight,
while becoming aware of others to my left and right.
I saw family and friends as well as strangers too,
as our eyes would meet, excitement ensued.

As I think back now on times I knew well,
while in that earthly existence I did travail.
To arrive at my destination those memories now fade,
in the brightness and beauty of Heaven's Pearly Gates.

I knew now as I had been known,
this was fulfilling of scripture and wounded hearts atoned.
I beheld His Majesty of Heaven, high and lifted above,
His streets paved of gold and flowing river of love.

We bow in all reverence to the Creator of Heaven and Earth,
as we bask in the warmth of His Son of virgin birth.
He is the one who came and died, yet lives again,
to fulfill every word spoken by God of Him.

His beauty and majesty in all humility we behold,
for He is the King of Glory, His story, while on Earth, we told.
We spoke of this day to all that would hear,
a word in time of an ending drawing near.

We now dance for His Majesty, as we love His embrace,
we know His grace and favor, untold mercies and faith.
We celebrate His appearing as one does the morning light,
while kneeling in His presence, The Morning Star, shining bright.

As daydreams or night dreams find their place to hide,
my thoughts I did ponder, while enjoying the night.
Quiet and peaceful was it's refrain,
as suddenly, across the eastern sky, colors did rain.

A beautiful shooting star had caught my eye,
wakened me from my night dream as I looked away and sighed.
It had been my imagination, that night dream so real,
yet filled with awe and inspiration, I took pen in hand, my thoughts to spill.

When into my spirit I felt Him imply,
"The shooting star you beheld is likened to My coming which is nigh.
Continue in the way I direct you to go,
For daughter, soon I shall appear to call all my children home."

REFLECTION:
Luke 12:40
Be ye therefore ready also; for the Son of man cometh at any hour ye think not.
