Consolation

Consolation

A Poem by LynnieKennie
"

When people are emotionally unavailable, sometimes animals are not.

"

With no sound audible to the ear,

I sit crying on the edge of fear,

did anyone hear?

Yet, here he is at my feet,

shaking off a deep sleep...

our searching eyes meet,

I continue to weep.

I feel lonely, sad and lost,

he offers me true love...

unconditional and without cost,

an angel's gift from above...

This friendship without laws,

sets my broken heart free...

with a pair of puppy paws,

placed gently on my knee.
