Find the Key

Find the Key

A Poem by Lynn_Silfur

Why does it feel like this? Lost, hopeless, alone. Oh, how I want to reach out, to have a connection. But something stops me. What is it? Anxiety? Fear? Yes. Yes, that's it. A fear of rejection, of being pushed to the side for something better. Isn't it crazy? Something that should be so simple, is so hard to do. And why is it like this? How did the world become such a dangerous place? Where we should feel free, we are trapped. Caged in, with no one to show us the key that is right at our feet. Though there is always that one, single person. Who will have that strength, that fight, that hope. They are the one who sees the key, and they take it, not scared of the outside, of what they might face, because they know who they are. They know that no matter what is thrown at them, they have the hope that things will get better, that they'll walk through a new door, and see a world that is beautiful. And who knows? Maybe you will be the next to see the key, to have that fight, that hope, and be free.
