Dark Life?

Dark Life?

A Poem by Lynn_Silfur

When you live in a world full of people who do nothing but follow what others think is best for them, it can start to feel like no one but you thinks for themselves. It becomes you, breathing, seeing, living. Just you and this world. And it suffocates you. Where you used to breathe freely, now you gasp for air, begging for some form of relief. But none comes. So you're left there, hoping, gasping, dying. Until you can't take it anymore. And then you're gone, stolen from this life. Though if you think about it, was it ever really a life? Everyone, alone in their own world, too afraid to reach out, to connect. Afraid that they won't be accepted, that they won't be loved, that they'll be shut down. So they stay, left alone, where no one can hurt them.
